Lynn Vos, PhD

An Associate Professor of Marketing with experience at four UK Universities and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), I had the honor of being  selected to represent business school academics from across all four nations as Discipline Lead at the UK Higher Education Academy (HEA, now Advance HE) from 2011- 2014.  I visited over 60 UK Universities and met colleagues from many more to:

• promote and share evidence-based teaching and learning practice;

• provide consultancy;

• support and invest in research;

• host workshops and seminars; and

• share the many innovative teaching ideas of colleagues across the UK.

​

As Chair of Education for the Academy of Marketing (2013-2019), I worked with a great team to develop research capacity in evidence based teaching and learning practice. In 2022, I received a lifetime achievement award from AM for my contributions to marketing education.

 

I am now back in Canada and enjoying my new role at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in Calgary where I am the research lead for a $300,000 NSERC granted project on transcultural communication.

Academics in the UK and Canada demonstrate an exceptional commitment to the student experience but are currently facing ​numerous challenges, most recently from the pandemic, but more particularly from funding cuts and an growing range of imposed metrics and measures in what is an increasingly marketized environment.​

​

I have created this site to share my thinking and research in higher education in general and in marketing education in particular.  Please see my posts as well as some of my other work in the projects and 'more' sections.
